Velociraptor Habanero pepper

The Velociraptor is one of the newer, more aggressive peppers in our lineup—and it lives up to the name.
This variety falls under the Capsicum chinense species, the same family as habaneros and other superhots, known for intense heat and bold flavor. While not as widely documented as older heirloom varieties, the Velociraptor comes out of the modern wave of specialty pepper breeding, where growers push for higher heat, gnarlier textures, and deeper flavor profiles.

With a heat range of 800,000 to 1,200,000 Scoville units, this pepper brings serious fire. But like the best superhots, it’s not one-dimensional—there’s a subtle fruitiness underneath the heat that gives it a surprisingly complex edge.

Why we use it
The Velociraptor is our heavy hitter. When we want to take a sauce into true hot territory, this is the pepper that gets us there.
It delivers:
• Immediate impact
• Lingering heat
• A depth that keeps it from feeling harsh
It’s not just hot—it’s controlled intensity.
